Functions

In the pages of this section we'll consider the functions of proteins. Proteins perform a wide variety of functions in an organism. For convenience, they can be divided into several major classes: structural proteins, carrier or transport proteins, messenger proteins and enzymes. There are other classes or functions, in addition to these, but these are the ones that we will focus on.
