Wrap-Up

In this lesson and the previous one, we have covered quite a bit of territory and none of it as deeply as it can be covered. You have dealt with a half dozen or more different types of organic compounds, all of which contain oxygen in one way or another. You have dealt with the way that some of these compounds can be made from other such compounds, and I have alluded to the importance of certain types of these chemical reactions and certain types of these chemical bonds in biological processes.

In the next lesson we will continue this overview of classes of organic compounds by considering nitrogen-containing compounds. As always, please review the objectives for this lesson, try your hand at the self quiz, make sure you complete the review section of the experiment, and good luck on the quiz for the lesson.
