Reactions
There are so many reactions that alcohols undergo that I have heard it said that a good organic chemist can make anything he or she wants from an alcohol. There is a good deal of truth to that statement. We will talk about some of those reactions now while we are dealing with alcohols, and we will talk about more of them later when we are dealing with some of the other compounds which can be made from the alcohols.
