Lesson 9

CHEMICAL NOMENCLATURE

Preview

In the last two lessons we have studied how - and why - atoms bond together and also how molecules interact.  In this lesson you will learn how to properly name chemicals.  You will see that when naming a compound you must first determine what kind of bonding is taking place - is it ionic or covalent bonding?  Once you have determined if it is ionic or covalent you will be able to name the compound.
