Wrap-UpSummaryIn this lesson we have dealt with only a few of the properties that can be related to the periodic table. Those properties were selected because they are the most important for explaining chemical bonding and chemical reactions, which is what you will need to understand as we continue through the course. There are many other properties that could have been considered. In fact, a few of them will come up in future lessons. That completes the presentation of this lesson. As you review this lesson, I recommend that you be sure to look at each of the objectives on the objective sheet. Also, take the self quiz and make sure that you get answers for any unresolved question that you may have. You have a problem set from your workbook for this lesson. You also have a lab report from your workbook to turn in. For this report simply enter your observations on the lab worksheet and answer the questions there. (You do not need to write it on a separate sheet unless it is very messy and hard to read.) The students in the day and evening sections watched a short (24 min) film about the periodic table in class. On-line students should take time to watch that film in the lab; there is a TV cart that can be wheeled out for viewing. |
